Lauren Lehman grew up in a great neighborhood in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, where she and her friends and her two younger brothers spent much of their childhood playing outside. She especially loved playing soccer, and she still likes to get out and kick the ball around from time to time.
Lauren graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelor’s of Science and Nursing, then worked as a nurse at Children’s Hospital and at a UPMC Cancer Center. She decided to go back to school to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Pittsburgh.
Lauren and her wonderful husband, Craig, have one daughter and two dogs (Bert and Ernie). She loves spending time with family and friends, and is always eager to get outside for a walk with her dogs, enjoy the sunshine (whenever we get some!), or take a hike to someplace new.
Lauren also enjoys photography, scrapbooking and card making, and reading books — although lately she hasn’t had nearly as much time to read for pleasure as she would like.
As a young child, her favorite toys were her stuffed animals. She carried them with her wherever she went, and she named them all “Elizabeth.” When she got older, Lauren says, her favorite toy was her American Girl Doll, Molly, “because she had glasses just like me.”
Lauren’s favorite places to play in Pittsburgh are the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium (she loves going to see the animals, and could spend hours on end there), Phipps Conservatory (she used to study on some of the benches there as an escape from the hustle and bustle of campus life), and Fairview Park (she and her husband have lots of great memories there, and they can’t wait to start taking their daughter as well).
